5 - Minute Film Festival

Designed for the Student Activities department at Liberty University.
This multi-day event invited students to create short films to be presented in a large-scale film festival format. I decided to take the branding in a direction that celebrates the two ends of a film- preproduction, and the premiere. Furthermore, the brand concept includes scripts, storyboards, and various notepads, in a collage with movie stubs, film strips, and old-fashioned tickets.
Included in the brand design package are slight variations of the design assets- for example, an elongated ticket that became a interactive button in Instagram Stories.
The following specific resizes needed to include all the elements included on the main poster (see above) and would be displayed in a slideshow of ongoing university events on wall-mounted TVs around campus- in addition to a red-branded copy that highlights the due date for films to be included in the event.
This project, like other event branding pitches, required various resizes for different mediums of social media and aspect ratios. These resizes of the initial 8.5" x 11" poster design (see above) were displayed both online and around campus to promote the festival. See the various Instagram stories that were posted below.
Ultimately, this brand design was a challenge, being an Illustrator design so different than the vector style Illustrator is known for. I am proud of how I was able to mix and match vector assets with photoshopped elements. Apart from the background corkboard and film scripts, everything was done entirely in Adobe Illustrator- and usually, when I make the known, it takes who I'm speaking to by surprise.
